Counselor Supervision Schedule
Supervision is most effective when conducted each week. When I was a licensure Supervisee, there was always something I needed help with, to discuss, and to get feedback on. During my own licensure supervision, I was honored to have a Supervisor on site every day that I could go to at any time. It was invaluable and weekly supervision is cited as a best practice. Therefore, anything less than weekly just seems disjointed, detached, disconnected. BUT, we all understand that “life happens” and unexpected situations arise. Having a supervision schedule in which we meet weekly allows for ‘life to happen.’
Tele-Supervision Reduces Attendance Obstacles
Because we are meeting using live-video conferencing, it will be rare, that I am unable to attend. Even if I have a cold, or mild flu, I can conduct supervision without contaminating you. When I am too ill to conduct supervision, Supervisees are notified, and since we meet weekly, it is likely that no make-up date will be needed. As of yet, I have never had to cancel a session with my online psychotherapy clients because I can log in from any HIPAA secure location. The same goes for clinical supervision group sessions.
You may be here for the very reason that tele-supervision allows for low barriers to attendance. You’re able to log on from any HIPAA secure location to attend scheduled group counselor supervision sessions. It’s so awesome! (Of course — I’ll work with when attendance obstacles arise.)

For those who are looking for a Supervisor who sticks to a strict 30-hour annual supervision schedule, this is not the group for you. Jus sayin’. My focus in on your development, growth, clinical maturing, meeting learning objectives, and more. I want us both to feel confident that you are ready for independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Weeks In Which Supervision Sessions Are Not Held Each Year:
• April 12-14
• The Last Week in November (actual dates provided to Supervisees)
• December 20 – January 2
• The week following Face-to-Face Triannual Group Supervision Sessions (actual dates provided to Supervisees)
• Weeks in which I am attending a multi-day professional Conference (actual dates provided to Supervisees)
Triannual Face-To-Face Counselor Supervision Sessions
To supplement tele-supervision group sessions, we meet face-to-face once every four months (three times per year), in the metro Atlanta Area. The triannual face-to-face sessions are a combination of group supervision and additional training sessions.
